Dojang Rules

1) Respect our dojang by keeping it clean!

    - When you get to the dojang, put your shoes on the rack with your socks inside and hang your coat up. Don’t leave your bag near the door.

    - Put the equipment or toys away neatly when you are done with them.

    - Keep the changing rooms neat – pile your belongings neatly during class and take them home when you are done.

    - Don’t leave food, drinks or garbage lying around – use the trash can. If the trash can is full, ask for a trash bag and empty it!

    - If you make a mess, clean it up!

2) Respect your instructors and parents by using good etiquette!

    - When you are watching class, keep your voice low and don’t disturb the class.

    - All students, even those not in class, should bow and salute the flag when classes are bowing in or out.

    - Call your instructors Sir or Ma’am; when using their name say Mr, Ms, Kyosa or Master depending on their rank.

    - Shake hands with two hands.

    - Keep your dobak clean. Learn to tie your dobak and belt properly. If you wear a t-shirt, it should be white. Remember: your dobak is YOUR responsibility; not your parents’.

    - Remember that your parents are the reason you can do martial arts. ALWAYS show them respect.

3) Respect your training by doing your best!

    - Practice at home.

    - NEVER use your martial arts training to bully others.

    - Remember that you always represent our dojang. Always be polite, respectful, work hard and show good discipline.

    - Have fun, but work hard too!

    - Always do your best.
